The Story of Carrot Tan Jam - From the founder and formulator Anastacia, ZASSNI Organic Skincare.
 
I grew up by the beach and was never afraid of the sun as Television advertisements would tell me to do. I knew the sun is life giving and nothing could live without it. I saw the glow the sun and sea gave my skin but also the emotional boost I felt with the natural sun giving Vitamin D and the mineral rich sea waters - so I savored the Thalassotherapy every summer. My parents are from Greece and they also grew up by the beach. My mum in particular loved the beach so much and was so obsessed with getting a tan she wished she was born African. In the summer she would put her Greek coffee in a thermos and leave for the beach early in the morning and stayed there all day to watch the sunset. 
When I began my skincare formulation journey, my mum asked me to make her something she could use for tanning - She didn't ask for a wrinkle or anti-aging cream but something for tanning.
I dived into my research and wanted to create something completely natural for her that would give her the results she needed fast, while it also nourished her skin (carrots are amazing for ageing skin) and made it soft with silky feel. This formula after-all was being developed for the beautiful woman that gave birth to me so it had to be superior to others, natural, good for the skin and while its focused on the tan I wanted it to also have beautiful skin benefits - so that she was getting nourishment, softness, smoothness, pro-youthifying properties, protection from dehydration and above all an Amazing Deep Golden Tan!
While I was developing, I remembered being at the beach in Greece with my mum and auntie Marika where auntie Marika asked for the tanning product we were using at the time which looked like a jelly. She asked: "Could you pass me that marmalade so I can put some on too?" And that is how the name 'Carrot Tan Jam' was created.
